The RR as a first bike
« on: March 21, 2004, 08:44:32 PM »
This is for those of you looking at the 600RR as a first bike.  This topic has been brought up many many times on this message forum.  A lot of new riders feel it is a great first bike, while the more experienced riders tend not to agree.  Unfortunately there is no 100% correct answer, no matter how much some people wish to think so.  With this being said, it is highly recommended that you read what is on this link.  When you are finished reading this, have someone you trust read this as well.  Having someone else read this and give their opinion will help you make a decision with your head instead of your heart or ego.  It was written by the head admin of this site who knows a lot about motorcycles and riding.  Enjoy.  8)

I feel I must update this post with this last piece of advice.  If you're buying a new bike and plan on doing any of the work yourself, have the bike shop order you a service manual for that particular bike.  Have them throw it in with the financing if you can scrape up the $60-$70 for the manual.
