Fork seals
« on: September 01, 2016, 02:11:04 PM »
Hey guys what's up ? Anyone have a tip to putting the forks back together ? These are a major pain in the arse. Had to compress the spring without a tool to get to the nut . Now I'm trying to figure out how to put it back on . It has to be compressed and you have to hold up the rod to allow you to connect it to the cap. A string to hold it up idk . Any ideas?

Ok so I ordered universal fork compressor tool which made it much easier . To put them back together I tied some twine under the damper rod nut then tied the other end of twine to the bench and placed the fork on the ground . The tension from the twine kept the rod up all the way to allow compression and was able to connect the end cap to the rod . It's a job but saving 300$ is well worth it .
