Ontario Insurance Quote...Better Sit Down
« on: April 28, 2016, 07:08:22 PM »
I'm going to try to keep this short. I'm 25 m2 first bike. Original quote with state Farm $75 a month. I was very happy with this price. State Farm Canada sold out to certas. New quote... $220 a month..ouch but ok whatever Iv been waiting to ride this bike my whole life. Find out today they had quoted me and f4i. Ok so what is it for my rr.... $7500 a year....big ole bag of nope! Going to call around but worse case be riding with none. That is absolutely sickening and I refuse to surrender to corporate corruption. Any tips or hints let's hear them

1. Get a better driving record/less tickets/insurance approved driving courses
2. Get older
3. Get married
4. Buy a house

Aside from that, basics I tell people I know when shopping for insurance:

Always tell them your ride is for pleasure only, not a daily commuter. That right there will increase your cost out the gate. (thusly, if you get in a wreck to/from work (or school) if you commute, don't say "i was on my way to or from work"(or school).... a simple, I was out riding and this asshole hit me works. Less is more in that situation)
Underestimate the amount of miles you ride in a year when they ask.
