THE BIKES
With "CRT" going away (there are no longer any "calming" rules so, that name no longer makes sense... ) For 2014, there will be 2 classifications of Bikes, They are as follows:

Factory - These are the true "factory spec bikes", the major rule differences are that they are: limited to 20L of fuel, 5 engines for the season.  They are:
- Yamaha M1 (Factory & 2nd tier Factory Spec)
- Honda RC213V (Factory, 2nd & 3rd tier Factory Spec)
- Ducati GP14 (Factory Spec, Also possibly the 2nd tier factory spec...but)

OPEN - These are formerly CRT, but they are allowing lease & Production racers provided they are following the rules.  The Major differences being:  Limited to 24L of fuel, 12 Engines for the season & Must run the DORNA spec ECU (Hardware AND software). They are:
- Honda RCV1000R Production Racer
- Yamaha M1 / FTR  (This will be the M1 engine, starting the year with a M1 frame & swingarm, but progressing to a FTR Frame & swingarm later in the year.
- Ducati GP14 (2nd tier Factory Spec - Maybe...)
- Aprilia ART
- PBM Aprilia
- Suter BMW, FTR Kawasaki/Honda, Attack Kawasaki, etc...

Other Notable News...
Ben Spies retires from racing (can you say comeback in a few years...)
RDP - No GP ride for next year, but will be testing the Suzuki for its return in 2015...

Interesting press release today by Michel Jordan motorsports...
They are withdrawing from AMA and setting they're sights on WSBK or MotoGP, wildcard in 2014 and full time in 2015.   Will be interesting if they can make it happen...

Going to be an exciting season for sure.  Can't wait to see Nicky back on the Honda and see his times compared to what Casey has been able to do in testing

I would say I feel bad for RdP, not having a ride and all, but his wife is like the most amazing woman ever, so I don't feel too bad for the guy, haha!

Should make for an interesting season...I hope Spies has some time to re-focus and heal up, hopefully come back to some form of racing eventually.
