M3 Birthday Cake
« on: June 17, 2013, 11:55:11 AM »
It was my boyfriend's big 40, so I wanted to do something special.

He LOVES his 2008 E92 M3 that I decided to make a cake out of.

I have no skill to make one, but I was willing to pay good chunk of money
Which... I did. :hs:

I found a cake maker in Manhattan and ordered a custom cake a week before his birthday.

I asked for details of:

- Must have M3 hump on the hood.

- Need M3 emblems on the hood and all four wheels.

- Pennsylvania license plate (his car's registered in PA though we live in NY).

- Dual exhaust.

- I-93 road sign.

- Our black cat "Sister".

I sent around 30 pictures of detailed shots.

Made this mockup to help her.

Last Friday after work, I picked up the cake in Manhattan.

The cake turned out more than I asked for!

She even made brake discs inside the wheel!!

I was so happy how it turned out.

It was chocolate cake with strawberry butter cream with fresh strawberries and homemade blueberry jam underneath.

The only thing missing was our beloved cat "Sister" which the cake maker left at her workshop.

Some extras. :)

And we rode all weekend as he wanted.

His.

Mine.

Good times.

What an awesome cake. The ride looks like it would have been good too. Wish him a happy birthday from us too please :thumb:

What is the Louis Vuitton item?

Is it a keyring?

OMG if it is, I am super jelly! (Mouth waters...)
