moto-heaven.com/XES custom racing suit
« on: June 13, 2006, 10:20:27 PM »
I recently bought a custom racing suit through moto-heaven.com and I'm a little dissapointed with how poorly it has held up. I highsided on my first lap out in the rain wearing my new leathers and ripped two seams on the rear stretch pannel. While some damage would be expected, this was a pretty low speed fall and the slide was on wet pavement. Not even a half of a lap of use and one slow fall and my leathers are already at a leather shop being repaired.

I know Jeff has a review of the suit on here and was hoping to get some feedback from him on how it held up. I noticed in some of the more recent photo's in the gallery that you have a different suit already.

The damage was bad enough that I shouldnt have used it the rest of the weekend, but I refused to wear my old two piece joe rocket for my first race events and the spot that was exposed had the back protector behind it anways.

Probably my biggest complaint is that all my previous emails have been responded to very quickly in dealing with this company. However as soon as I send an email with a problem/complaint they have not responded.

That sucks.  I have been thinking of getting a set of these as well.  Mabey Jeff can give some insight?

Wow, that is pretty bad...

My suit...  I had it for 2 years, but only used it for 1.5 seasons.  I have crashed in it 4 times.  Crash damage, I have not blown any seams out like you did.  However, I did have to have the knees rebuilt twice because I ripped the stitching out from moving around on the bike and pushing with my knees on my stomp pads.  I am VERY hard on leathers without crashing.

Right now I have them repaired and in the trailer.  I wear them if it's super hot since they are the best vented suit I have (I have 4 suits in the trailer to choose from).

If Phil isn't responding, he is likely out of town, etc.  He has always taken care of customer problems, so I truly believe he will take care of this one.  Just call them, or give him a bit more time.

Thanks for the replies ... it has been a while since I emailed him, so I emailed him back again. I already had the leathers fixed localy since they only charged me 20 bucks, but I'm still a little annoyed that it happened.

I'll let ya'll know if anything comes of it ..

Before purchasing the racing suit, you should consider the proper safety aspects and the characters of the racing suit.  Nylon fibers racing suit provide the resistance against fire and water. They have close bonding with molecules. So, they offer less chance against damages.

1) check date.
2)what on earth does molecule bonding have to do with seam ripping?

First post digging up an ancient suit post & a signature to a link that sells gear.  Nothing fishy there...
