i don't think it applies to the 05 750's and 600's.  those most likely have the same frames as the 04's.  if there were any problems with the 04's then we all would've heard them by now.  especially since most of members here have a dislike for suzuki's.   8)

I think it's just the 05 1k's super duper lighter, narrower, and more fragile frames.

I don't hate Suzukis.  The Gixxers, for the most part, are awesome bikes.

All bikes have problems here and there. Some are bigger than others. The 10r had that front wheel thing.

Just look at the 1000rr. It doesn't win races. That's a serious problem.

Any news on that bike being updated next year, though? When is honda going to put up a real fight?

Are you saying that because the 1000rr doesn't win races it is a safety issue? ???  I don't understand your comparison here.  Maybe honda's CBR ain't the quickest on the block but at least it's a dependable machine that can be rellied upon.  Honda didn't cut any corners as did Kawasaki/Suzuki and you can see the end result of that.  That's what they mean when they say that honda's are bullet proof.  Having a front rim shred on you or having your FRAME come apart on you is a huge problem.  This frame fiasco may end up costing Suzuki big.....ahhh but at least they win some races, eh?  What does winning races do for me the consumer who has to ride the thing?  :run:

For most die-hard Suzuki riders, it doesn't mean anything.  My buddy is still dead set on buying a GSXR 1000.  He doesn't care that they will probably recall them.  Pretty stupid I think but most people have the "it won't happen to me" mentality.

I don't know man... That's pretty bad... I laid down a Honda Superhawk and slid into a guard rail and yes the plastic was busted but the bike and frame was OK...

here's more salt to rub into that wound.

http://www.1tail.com/2005_GSXR_frame/default.asp

apparently the fault was traced to a defective welding, the frame just came apart while racing his Gixxer which caused him to crash.

better show this to anyone thinking of buying this bike you could save his life by doing so. as to the guy in charge of welding the frames i say fire him & hang him afterwards. :fu:
