Title: What's up, CBR Nation? I'm new.
Post by: TopgunRR on February 03, 2005, 01:12:07 PM
Greetings, fellow CBR600RR riders. I got sick of my buddies who ride R6's talking about their little discussion forums, so I'm joining up.
Here's the skinny:

2003, Black
Bought brand new in Sept. '04
Current mileage: 6010

Windscreen sprayed black to match fairing
All warning stickers, honda logos, etc. removed (CAREFULLY!)
One sticker added: factory 600RR with "600" removed, centered behind passenger seat
All factory turn signals replaced: flush mount smoke/black in front, mini stalk smoke/black in rear
Factory license plate holder/rear fender/huge eyesore removed, of course

I realize these mods are small and cosmetic, but put them all together and I've got one heluva good looking machine. And I love it when morons come up to me at gas stations. After staring for a few seconds, they invariably say, "It's really nice... what kind is it?"  Ha ha! Screw you, you freakin' sandal-wearing, SUV driving wannabe!

So, moving on, I live in Mississippi temporarily while I get my Master's degree in Computational Engineering... but a shout to my boys in my hometown, Pittsburgh, PA! Can't wait to get the bike up there and cut some serious city asphalt.

;) Welcome to the forum ;)

We're not as cool as the R6 guys, but welcome to the real riders :thumb:

You humored me by listing removing your safety stickers as a modification  :P You must show pictures so I can laugh at your slow ass black RR, you didn't know the limited edition yellow bike is the faster one? ???  :P

Welcome asswipe!  Hope you stick around long enough to enjoy the flaming your about to get.  There are a few PA riders in here, including my cousin, but he rides an R1.  Maybe y'all can hook up since he's new in town and needs some riding friends.  Oh yeah,  ;).  :embarrassed:

I just skimmed it, did he put a No Fear sticker on it?  We all know that adds something like 10 hp and almost makes up for it being black...

Oh and welcome ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

 ;) Welcome  ;)

I prefer Red, bcz its factory color, forget about Yellow being fast, the only fast thing that yellow color is to the ground..  ::)

I was born in State College, then lived in Bloomsburg for a while. How's the riding around there? The roads down here in MS are straight as an arrow, and it gets boring if you dont wheelie or speed.

Man you need to come back up here to SC then.  The roads up here are awesome.  144 all the way up through Renovo and back through Lock Haven is an awesome ride.  All the roads up through Phillipsburg are nice too.  A bunch of us get together on Sundays to ride.  When are you coming back?

This summer I'll be back in PA. I'm actually getting married June 11th. I was just back home for Christmas and all I could think was, MAN i wish I had the bike up here on these freakin' twisties.

Oh yeah. I'm there just about every chance I get. Usually, as long as I have the money, at least a few times a month through the riding season. Theres plenty of bike events there. Excellent track. Great grip, nice layout. They've been building more and more since it opened. Now they have garages, luxury rooms over looking the track, showers, the whole deal. The construction of the addition to the track was getting ready to begin last I talked to some of the onwers. It will more than double the length of the big track. When all it said and done, we'll have a world class facility here. They've been talking to the AMA. We may have an honest to goodness AMA event here if a date opens in the future. They have a karting track, which I've raced YSR 50's on. I thought it was a cool track, and I'm told by the karting geeks that it's the best track in the eastern US, maybe the country. They have a skid pad, and an off road rally racing type course. CIA and Secret service is training there, Road and Track has done road tests and vehicle shootouts there. It's a cool track and it's drawing big clients, so they should keep money up high enough to keep it nice. When you get back to shithole PA, let me know. We can hook up and ride. I sell bikes at a joint called Zanottis on RT 8 in Butler. I can always be found loafing there.

We were on our way to the Pittsburgh Zoo and I didn't want to be some crazy psycho stalker.  Ever go down to the famous Butler Snack and Pack?

Theres 2 of them, I've been to both. I live less than a mile from the one and about 2 miles from the other. Not sure why they're famous, the food is nothing special. I wouldn't have thought you were a stalker if you just stopped by to say hi. If you were wearing a t-shirt with my picture on it, maybe.

The only reason I call it the famous Butler Snack and Pack is because my friend works in there during semester breaks and we hear about it all the time.
