Title: undesirible passenger???
Post by: Stan on May 25, 2005, 12:49:48 AM
So one of my ex's wants to go for a ride on the back of my bike.  Back when I dated her like 6 years ago, she was not, but over the past few years she has gained a little weight.  She's not fat....I'd consider her more "chunky".  She's asked me for rides repeatedly, but I'm reluctant as to what other people might think, considering a chick on the back of a rocket shows a lot of ass.  What do you guys think of this?  Should I do it, or should I let her down again?

Not only the look but consider the max weight on the bike.  I believe it's 345 lbs.  Depneding on your weight it might be unsafe altogether.

I'll ride anyone, ugly, hot, fat, skinny.  It doesn't matter anyways since we'll both be wearing gear.  Although, i do not like riding passengers, takes the fun out of riding.

Jeff can we move this topic to the "unique question section?"

Just tell her the bike is made for people weighing 65kg and you're already pushing its limits :P

My old man wanted me to give him a lift out to pick up his bike from the repair shop and I told him to get f'd :) He weights about 110kg and I'm 90 LOL!!!!

Damn metric system!
i'm torn on the metric system. my engineer half loves it because it's well thought out (everything is multiples of 10). but my asshole american half (probably the stronger half) hates it because i have no concept of it's physical measures. how the hell long is a kilometer? how the hell much does a kilogram weigh?

eh, you're right. damn the metric system!

i always always say to girls, "so you wanna ride huh, well you have to be no more than 115 lbs." and they say, "you asshole" and i am a free man. fat girls make bike scrape.

how the hell long is a kilometer?

1.6 kilometers per mile.  Roughly one and a half times the distance in kilometers.

Quote
how the hell much does a kilogram weigh?

0.45 kilograms per pound.  Roughly half the mass in kilograms.

I don't understand why we're NOT on the metric system.  We're one of the only countries that doesn't widely accept the SI measurement.  It's simple to use, and even simpler to scale to larger or smaller units.  Ever try going from pounds to grams?  What about quarts to ounces?  Square feet to acres?

I have a very good idea of how long a Kilometer is, we do all our land navigation in the Corps in Klicks.

Stan, put the rear cowl on, remove the passenger foot pegs and tell her your bike was made for racing, not passengers...

Yea, I have my rear cowl on all the time, and when lil' bitches come up asking for rides, I just point to the cowl and say, "I'm sorry lil' bitch, I don't have a seat for you.  But I got a nice comfy bed at my house!"

::)  Why they gotta be called bitchees?!?!?  That happened once, when i first met Paiky.  His friend had 2 chicks to ride, all of us had our seat cowls on, so she had to be ditched.  If i remember correctly she didn't look too shabby either...

Well if you gets on your nerves, which I'm sure all ex's can do, then you can always try this...

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/dumpgirlfriend.html

Or just show her that vid, then ask her if she still wants to go for a ride.

I don't think it's much fun.  Only thing I'll even take from her is a blowjob and she has to keep her clothes on.

Going to have to agree with this one....remove pegs & add seat cowl.  I am the first to admit that passengers suck...but this can be all the better for you if you think of it this way...where is the best view of a hot chick??? Answer: on the back of someone else's bike.  It is really dangerous and hard to look at a hot chick on the back of YOUR bike...but on the back of your buddies the view can be exceptional

It's a great way to be cocky + funny when a girl wants to ride on the bike, but you tell her she's probably too heavy because the max passenger weight is 200 lbs.

Shit robocop! What a video! I bet she had some serious road rash. I wonder if she was pissed at the guy or not?

eh, you're right. damn the metric system!

it's pretty easy ... for a french guys, so i will try to explain ....
volume, weight and capacity are all linked one to the other. and water freezes at  zero degres celcius.

for instance, one liter of water, weigh one kilo and will fit in 1 cubic decimeter.
1000 liter weight one ton (1000 kilos) and will fit in 1 square meter.

but what about for me when I moved in the US ... people talking in cup, in fluid ounce, in gallon, in inch, in foot, in yard, in mile, in pound, in degres farenheigt (i don't know how to spell that fu**ing word  :-X )

110 kilo is not equal to 200 pound ....
90 kilo is 200 pound ...

so if she is 110 kilo, she is more like 230 pound ....

too dangerous to put on the back of the bike anyway ...  :'(

Stan, your probelm is keeping the ex around, not having her as a passenger. If you wold have gotten rid of her this wouldn't even be an issue.

Square feet to acres?

pounds to grams????  Were you thinking pounds to ounces?  A pound is 16 ounces.  There are 43 560 sq ft in an acre.  There are 32 ounces in a quart.

An acre is 1 furlong long, and 4 rods wide.

660 x 66 feet = 43560 sq ft

Besides that, the Imperial system rules.  An inch is the width of your thumb.  You can take a foot, and divide by 2, 3, or 4, or 6 and get an even measurement.  Try that with 304.8 millimeters.  Unless you are lucky any division of a measurement by other that 2 will result in a fraction, and 1/2 of the divisions by 2 will result in fractions.  Base 10 is horrible for units of measure.  Now if they had used base 12 it would have been a different story.

metric is great for engineers.  It SUCKS for people.  How much is in a juice box? About 8 ounces, easy.  In metric? 226 milliliters WTF?  Which is easier?  I can't imagine how tough it would be to try to cook with metric.  I would go insane trying to get the right number of grams.

Heck, even Celsius sucks, the divisions are too big, end up going to fractions to get useful information.
