Title: Official speeding ticket thread - post yours here
Post by: Mordeth on May 04, 2005, 01:39:06 AM
Original title: Pics of your ass...post here!

I thought it might be neat to have a place to post your photo speeding tickets. Not only can you show everyone how irresponsible you are....you can show them what roads have cameras that they might not be aware of. Don't forget to blur your plate number first (where do you think Jeff gets all his spare parts?).

BTW Mordeth, you are going to pay a lot of money for the ticket and donate your money towards the big brother ( I meant the camera) and govt...

Nice work my best speeding ticket is the one I didn't get as it happened to be a friend of mine from highschool. I was doing 90 in a posted 40K zone and got to go home with no coupons.

Yeah and their dating system is actually more accurate than the Western one...because it actually goes off of the moon....err, I think. So if you thought the world would end in the year 2000...don't worry...it still might.

:P Your fender elim kit is bigger than the stock mudflap  :P

Anyways I don't get it. Why post of a picture where you got caught in overspeeding or tell your friends that's a hot cop area so they beware themselves, when if you just ride within or just a tad above the limit you won't have to think about anything at all but your riding and the cages around you  :spank: There's really no sense and no satisfaction from going at excessive speeds in the public road. If you make it your personal track don't even make an excuse that you can't afford the track, you're riding an $9K toy and can't shell out $150 for a trackday  ::)

A few things to address here.
First of all...there is no elim kit in that pic...so I'm not sure what you are talking about. On average I always do twice the posted speed limit...been doing it for seven years. So in that pic I wasn't going "fast" in my mind at all...I was riding casual. You should also notice that in the pic it's a 4 lane road with no traffic in the "country". I bought my bike in Taiwan....and in Taiwan it doesn't sell for $9k it sells for $16k. And in contrast our track days here only cost 6 dollars a day. But I prefer the street.....thank you very much.  :embarrassed:

The plate is so huge that it covered all the of the stock fender, it must be useful to ride in dirt so the dirt gets caught there rather than being flinged all over  :P

Seriously, you ride twice the posted speed limit always? :embarrassed: :D You're lucky there are not too many a*holes cagers out there

Just the other week I passed a police car doing 5 times the posted speed limit. It was on a bridge with no traffic other than me and the cop. Not bragging....just saying.

I've never gotten a ticket on the bike (knock on wood) but I've had several in the car.  65 in a 45, 55 in a 35 (after sliding through the second timing marker on the brakes), 37 in a 25, 55 in a 35 (after slowing down from 85 to make the turn into work...I was late), 84 in a 65, 75 in a 55.  Several warnings but those were all a while ago so my record is clean now.

It's funny....back when I was in Canada I'd do 3 times the speed limit on a semi-regular basis. And I got speeding tickets pretty regularly as well....but I always got speeding tickets when I was riding really slow....tickets the were just 6 or 7 over...crap like that. It was so stupid how it worked. One time I was just chatting with a girl who was riding passenger and I get pulled over. I asked to see the radar readout but the cop said he tried to get a 2nd reading and it didn't work..so he had no reading to show me. Fooker. I'm sure I could have fought it, if I knew how...but I didn't...and I moved to Taiwan. Plus shortly before moving to Taiwan due to that final ticket I got a letter saying my license was void until I took a "saftey driving" class...which consisted of watching some videos...and for that privelage I'd have to pay over a hundred bucks. Taiwan's police are useless...which is good..and bad.

No tickets on the bike, had a few close calls. (speeding, shifting back from side to side to clean off tires)  Last time i got a ticket for the cage was about 2 years ago, 70 in a 35.  Was in a hurry to get home to ride the bike. 8)

I got no tickets on the bike yet.  Well, except this one time when my ez-pass didn't read at the toll on NJ Turnpike.  I got a nice picture of my backside and a $30 fine for a $.55 toll.  I'd post the pic but I don't have a scanner.

I recieved a tiny *cough* ticket for going down our private road..which evidently has a speed limit  :-X I don't even know what the cop was doing there since it is private property. That's still in court since it was BS and private property..if I wanna speed down my road/driveway let me..

My local DOT puts out these radar stations mounted on poles. Has anyone seen them? They're small and not the ones on wheels. I've noticed that my bike doesn't get picked up by the radar. I'd go by it with cars and it reads fine. I go by again by myself and it doesn't read anything. Could it be that stealth wax? ???

To get an approximate figure for KM into MPH  divide the Km in half and add 10.  100km/2=50mph+10=60mph (approx only) :thumb:

+1 ... It is a lot more accurate than the A.D and B.C crap..... (I will probably get flame for this)... Anyway, I am not sure about China, because I really dont follow any Communist shit that happens over there.. I do know Taiwan and Vietnam and some other asian countries.  Since communist took over in china a lot of shit got changed, no fucking freedom what so ever.  You take what Govt gives you thats why majority of the people there are so fucking lazy, the key word is majority, there is some business that work very hard, thats why you have to have connections in the govt to get ahead of the game in China (money, wealth, just like the company that bought IBM personal computer division, the guy was backed by the China govt, U.S is in deep shit because too dependent on china goods, I can see another cold war coming)

A more accurate method is to multiply KMs by 6 and drop the last digit.  300KM/h*6=1800 drop the last digit=180.

For converting make a new folder in your browsers "favorites" called "covert" and add these puppies:

Got a ticket for doing 103mph in a 60mph. It was on a 6 lane tollway, in Dallas.
Well he caught me coming down from about 140mph, guess it could of been worse.

The first thing he said is "I hope you have a license for that thing, if not your going to jail, buddy"

When i called about taking defensive driving, the lady on the phone laughed at me and said "thats not gonna happen"
Long story short, i got an attorney, paid about a $100 to the attorney and a small fine (i think it was about a $150) and three months without another ticket- and it did not go on my record.

That was about a year and half ago, so flame me if you like. I want to get to the track, once i get back from Iraq. The streets arent enogh anymore.

In Taiwan (where I am) there is no 'point' system on licenses. So you can get as many speeding tickets as you want. Also speeding tickets for bikes are much less money than for cars. Since speeding cars usually kill a few people...and speeding bikes usually only kill yourself. I buddy of mine was doing 120 miles in a 60, he got a ticket for about 50 bucks U.S. . Which as far as I can tell is the maximum fine here for speeding on a bike. I got a 100 dollar fine for doing 10 over the limit in my car though. So I'm pretty sure if you got caught doing 180 in a 60...it'd still just be a 50 dollar fine here.  :thumb:

My buddy got a ticket doing 115 in a 65 and begged his way down to 2 no points tickets for Failure to Obey Traffic Control device and Illegible registration.  He would have lost his license due to points if he would have gotten the speeding ticket.

Twice the speed limit regularly, 3 times the speed limit regularly...won't do trackdays when they're only $6 because you 'prefer the street'?   :jerkoff:

The track is small here...very small. So yeah I prefer the long ocean freeways....not so odd. I do 260 on roads where the limit is 50...but only for short spurts. And yeah...I pretty much am always doing twice the speed limit. I've tried going slower but I lose concentration and have accidents. I've had 8 crashes on bikes....not one of which while going fast...and I'm usually going fast. So to me at least it seems like fast is safer. dunno.

That's good for you, but the 9th crash could end your riding career and if you ride fast all the time then fast mistakes are going to happen, but I'm sure you're man enough to handle the consequences...

My speeding ticket (which I'm going to court for tomorrow) was for 120 in a supposed 30mph..however..the road is a PRIVATE road leading back to my parents house.  :-X  It's supposed to be dropped and the only reason I was speeding is because it is private property..evidently the cop couldn't read the signs at the start of the road.

I remember hearing in one of the states that for speeding you get a ticket for "Wasting fuel" or "Hurting the environment" and it's only a 5 or 10 dollar ticket. Any idea which state that is?
