the suspension still needs to be in that G-spot based on your weight

You mean sweet spot right not Grafenberg's?  :P j/k

Every corner is a one turn corner hence they say one fast push, hard or soft depends on the corner radius, not a long push or  multiple short pushes also referred to as penny fencing (UK penny being octagonal I think?). So yeah, knowledge and hands-on exercises will be more beneficial than just knowing/understanding by itself.

Nem, you'll love level 2, the vision exercises, proper leaning form and the last one which is now my favorite, the "pick up".  :thumb:

No, I mean G-spot because I get a thrill off of the suspension working at it's best :embarrassed: :thumb: ;D

I don't believe the track has a noise limit because I've heard deafening exhausts (like MotoGP noise) on the track before.

As far as cheap hotel goes, I'm probably not the best person to ask since I drive to and back on the same day.  You might want to PM Jeff or Hi-Side who may know of some.

Hope you do make it there.  Come by and say hi when you do.

Come by and say hi when you do.

And when you do, just let Nem focus on his Grafenberg and do not let him show you how to spot it  :P
Once you go track you'll always come back, have fun  :thumb:

I just came home from attending California Superbike School in the UK. It was a great two day event doing Level one and two. I knew most stuff really, but why I didn't put them to use is another story!!! Now I do and I feel a lot more stable on my bike now than before. Here's a nice off track pic of me.

Want to go back for level 3 and 4 but I have a race coming up and I want to see if what I learned is gonna help me during race.

Be there at 7:00--that's when the gate opens and there be a long line of cars trying to get in.  I believe class starts at 8:00 a.m.

They have a sign-up sheet where someone will bring you a sub-sandwich, chips, and a can of soda for like 5 or 6 bucks.  You're better off bringing your own food.  Personally, I think they (school) should have atleast fed us.

The Desert Inn is a nicer place with a bar, pool and hot tub. The Devonshire is a dive nearer the track... I much prefer the Desert Inn in Lancaster though.'

Bring easy food... fruit, etc and lots of water, gatorade, etc.
I'm not a real asshole, but I do play one on the internet...

Superbike school rocks!!

My wife and I were there 4/2 and 4/3.  She rode Level 1 in the yellow group on 4/2.  She was the impossibly slow person on the red/black CBR600RR wearing a black Aerostitch.

She had tons of fun and improved tremendously through the course of the day.  She has no intention of becoming a knee-dragger...she just wanted to learn how to corner better and more comfortably so that she could enjoy street riding more.  She's signed up for Level 1 on 5/1.

I did Level 3 on 4/3 and was having a blast until I lowsided in the bowl.   ???  In a nutshell, I got wheelspin while I was leaned way over coming through the last 1/3 of the turn.  I was keeping it leaned to stay in fairly low on the track because there are some ripples about 40% of the way out that always seems to screw me up.  Anyway...I came off somewhere around 80-90mph (based on my RPM and gear selection) and slid to the outside of the track.  Thankfully, the bike stayed down and didn't tumble.  I just slid on my back and ass.

Damage to the bike: all the right-side plastic, broken right handlebar.  Damage to me:  sprained wrist.

I bought a used set of race plastics, new frame sliders, woodcraft clip-ons, and some other odds and ends.  Right now, the bike is ready to go except for the throttle grip, which is on order and should get here Tuesday or Wednesday.

Level 2 is interesting.  It focuses mostly on visual skills, and I found it somewhat less immediately rewarding as Level 1.  It's a good set of skills, but it just doesn't have the same instant feedback  that you get with level 1.

From what I experienced of Level 3, you're back to physical skills, and you get immediate results.  I'm scheduled to take Level 3 and 4 at Barber in September.  :)

Oh...some advice about level 2....get on the lean bike as soon as you can.  They'll teach you the right way to hang off.  I waited way too late in the day to get on the lean bike, and I only got to practice what I learned in one session.

If you love your motorcycle, set it free.  If it comes back, you've probably highsided.
