While i was sitting around with a broken back going out of my mind i bought a 2004 CBR600RR that was crashed to turn into a track/race bike. I paid $4500 for it and it had 600 miles on it and still has a clean title, i had to buy a new front wheel, upper fairing bracket and a 2nd hand dash (with 4,000 miles on it).
I havent been inside on of the new 600's and i wanted to see what was going on, pick up a few ideas for the Aprilia and just see what i could get out of one power wise. i didnt want to spend too much money on it but wanted to try a few thing.
I ported the heads, got the crank balanced (it was 20 grams out at each end) had the head decked, and had a radius valve job. i kept with the stock cams because the HRC cams are bloody expensive but degreed them up pretty tight. i got the HRC velocity stacks and airfilter which were kinda spendy and a powercommander and M4 full system and that is it.
i will get the suspension and 520 chain conversion on it soon so it is race ready.
the bike made 108 on our dyno as i received it with a Two Brothers slip-on and now with a custom map that was made for the slip-on (before i got the M4 full system) it is making over 120hp, and this is on pump gas. i will finish up the custom map on Monday and should get a few more hp and smooth it out a little and then i will add some MR9 to see what it will really do
600's are cool
