thank you guys for your candid replies. we are working on a magazine project bike to take land speed racing. the bike will be featured in  multiple MAJOR bike mags. honda has supplied our team with two 04 rr's(one to race and one to use as spares when the engine lets go). you will see the build up articles and the final racing of the bike in print. this will be the fastest 600cc sportbike ever. by the way my r1 set 6 records at bonneville this year with a top speed of over 216mph. i have been riding for 26 years and i am also a member of the bonneville 200mph club , el mirage 200 club and the maxton 200mph club. i also have a 575hp hayabusa turbo project going together. please save the my rr is fast enough already comments for the kids at 7/11

My RR is toooo fast already can't even type Maybe if you were kind enough to let us know what the purpose of this topic was about we prolly wouldn't have acted so childish.

Machines own the straights.  Riders own the corners.

If already know about the bike why are you asking on the board, obvisouly you know enough and what the bike can handle..  LAMO.. dont really care if you set a new land record, big fucking deal.. I am not into that anyway.. falling off a bike at 216MPH is not my cup of tea.. LAMO...

I'm sure he's just asking for some "lessons learned" kind of stuff since he hasn't done an RR before.  Cut the guy a break..he's gonna put the RR in a magazine.

honiton what I'm about to say I am quite serious about. If you don't have a single productive thing to say about something than please SHUT THE FUCK UP!! Is it's not your cup of tea than read and move on. This post whoring is getting fucking outta hand!

Seriously people put ALOT of time into getting a few more tenths of a mile per hour outta their bikes. A friend of mine and his dad go down to Maxton and earlier this year missed the 200mph mark by .4 mph!! They spent another 60-80hrs of time on trying to just get that extra .5mph. They went back and ran a 201.something. Also you'd have to be a complete idiot to fall off a bike at 200mph+!! Me personally I'd love to go over 200mph just once. There's not that many people that can say they went that fast. Good luck on that Jason!

I remember watching this thing on discovery chanel about a guy that built and R1, and  and a turbo busa to break land speed records.  I dont remember his name being Jason, it was  awhile ago, so my memory could be lacking.

Why would Honda give you a 600 and not a 1000?

ok i will try and clear up some missunderstandings before i leave the board.
i was originally interested in finding out any model specific problems that board members may have experienced with their nitrous installs and use. ie how much squeeze are stock rods and pistons good for.

alpinestaRR :
please READ my post. the bike supplied to us are 04 600rr's.

we are doing a 600 bike build project to see how fast we can run the bikes for minimal$$$.

the 600 class is currently the class that many younger riders start off in and why wouldnt we target that market.

honiton:
please have your mother read my post to you again. i never said i was familiar with the rr. that is why i posted on this forum in the first place.if you have nothing to contribute please go elsewhere.

cpchillin:
i live on the west coast and flew out to maxton last sept and rode scott guthries nitrous busa and his street turbo busa. set three records that weekend.

the fellow on rr.net is running a dry shot. very low tech and not too reliable when used for long pulls.
thanks again for your input watch for the mag article at a newstand near you!!!

If you would have wrote this first...

has anyone put nitrous on a rr yet?

Instead of this, you would've got a more favorable response. We've had a lot of hoaxes and people with screwed up reasons for wanting to add turbo and nitrous on this wonderful machine, we rarely take topics like this seriously.
