2nd trip to the .25mi (1st plce win!)
« on: August 28, 2003, 02:34:31 PM »
Mother of gawd. This bike FLIES.

I won 1st place in bracketracing, bike category. I held consistently to my dial-in time of 12.1 seconds. Beating a couple of R1's, some Yamaha sled, and this (tool) on a harley, who seemed to think my eliminating him in the 2nd round because he redlighted was not a fair 'win'.  ::)

My personal best time for the day was in the 11.8's. The bike lifted the front wheel, carrying it 60-70ft ft im told, and then lifted it again as i shifted 2nd, and carried that most of the way down the track. I was alllllll over the tank, keeping my weight as far forward as I could. This bike is STABLE going down the track, very confidence inspiring.

EDIT: I can't wait for my 1st track day, when I can really put myself thru the wringer (cause I know I will be NOWHERE near the bikes capabilites)

Black600rr and 600RRPilot what altitudes are you guys at.  Just curious if anyone is near mine at approximately 2500ft and what type of times I should expect. Subtracting of course for my extra weight.   :)

What was your speed @ .25 mile?  My calculations say you hit 111.86/mph.

 Something doesn't add up. If a 1/4 mile is 1,320/ft and you did that in
11.4 seconds, that only adds up to 115.7/mph.

My Calcs:
------------
Distance / Time = Speed
==================
1320      /  11.4 = 115.78/mph

Your Calcs:
--------------
Distance / Speed = Time
=================
1320      / 123mph = 10.73/seconds

my best time was 11.4 @ 123. something  mph.  im not sure of the altitude.....but im in northern new jersey.

 Huh.... Nevermind what I said. I'm not factoring in your start at (0) speed. Since your starting at 0/mph, then this is just an average speed.
