Glad to hear you're open to other options, hun. I'm kinda anti- joe rocket and icon, but maybe that's just me.

Rev'It! uses a material in some of the higher end textile jackets called SuperFabric. (You can find it on the Defender jackets and pans). It holds up as good if not better than leather in a slide but it happens to be paper thin and weigh next to nothing. It's a ceramic fabric, if you can believe it. Stuffs fucking incredible. It will replace leather in all aspects of motorcycling for abrasion resistance once the cost comes down, and the perception of what you need for protection changes.
2003 CBR600RR - LCR Honda MotoGP racing body kit, Watsen Designs flush mount signals, Sunstar sprockets, D.I.D. X-Ring race chain, GPR GPE Titanium Carbon Fibre race pipe, Pazzo shorty gold levers, CustomLED Intergrated rear signal/brake light, Puig fender eliminator, PCV, K&N race air filter

Expensive as in a piece that covers both elbows and forearms for nearly 400 dollars? The Defender series jackets that it first appeared on were initially $1500 jackets that came down in price over the course of a year. The pants had knee protection and they only retailed for 800 a pop. The fabric itself is very expensive to produce but man what a performance difference. Imagine protection as good as any kind of leather or sting ray, but the venting, flexibility, and weather range of textile. Its what we've been waiting for.

Yup I want to go over gear with you guys. Introduce you to Andrew and see if we can get Phoenix into some good kit.

+1 for a newb that posts about gear rather than speed/power/wheelies/etc.
