Give it a rest guys, if you can't take someone's opinion then you in fact need some growing up to do. I mean seriously... But just to get on even grounds.. my father was force recon for the USMC and my brother just left for Afghanistan two weeks ago, also USMC. I have family in the CPD and I do live on my own. I just don't find police or your comments very useful

have you informed your "CPD" family members about how much you badmouth them? its not a matter of not beingh able to take someone else opinion. its a matter of having to listen to an uneducated opinion. yes, as i have already said in this thread, there are shitty cops, but just because you have never seen a cop go out of their way to help you in you extremely long 5 yrs of driving doesnt mean anything. im sure you have personally watched all 7000 cops cover all 370 sq miles onf chigao to see if they are doing the right thing. so lets talk about your comments earlier.

break into your car for you when there isnt a life on line: when i was stationed at ft stewart, we had a slimjim in all patrol cars. i was the patrol supervisor at the time when i was aked into the PMO (provost marshals office) the us armys version of a police station. the commander of the pmo had a spouse in his office and i had to listen to her complain about how one of my soldiers scratched the paint on her dodge neon with the slim jim when he was trying to help her by unlocking her car. the pmo had to pay for the repair to her paint job. they took away the slim jims.

give you a lift somewhere: imagine, if you will, i am giving you a ride because you ran out of gas. i get a call to respond to a armed robbery in progress less than a mile from my position. the next closest patrol is 6 miles away. i throw on the lights a get to it. when i show the robber begins shooting at my patrol car hitting you with a stray bullet. you die. your family sues. if i would have said no to responding then maybe someone else would have died, or a dangerous person would still be on the street.

before i enlisted in the us army and became a military police officer. i was pretty anti-cop myself. i watched my father get thrown off his rc51 by an altamonte springs fl cop because the cop thought he resembled a B.O.L.O. of another motorcyclist that ran from him. that cop was a piece of crap.

probably a better way to phrase your comment would be something like this:
i have never personnaly seen a cop do anything that i thought was worth a crap. for all of you cops on the board, tell me something. why cant a cop pick someone up when they need a lift, or why can they help me break into my car if i lock my keys in there?

please, without making up some bull crap to support you beliefs, tell us what experiences you have had that support you thoughts against cops.  and i dont mean your dipshit friend of a friend that said this and that. i mean your personal experience.

Your ignorance amazes me. You write this extensive response giving me your MP experiences and these far fetched ultimatums, but I will play your games. Those topics you touched on were just scenerios I was presenting, not real life situations I myself have been placed in, but if I were this is how I would handle them. Paint chips in my door jam? No big deal because i have the satisfaction of knowing the officer was actually fulfilling his duty to "protect and serve" and I now have access to the inside of my vehicle. Not only that, but fuck man just hit it with some factory touch up. Problem 1 averted. I'm not sure how it is by you, but here gas stations are every half mile or so. If he needed to respond to an ARMED ROBBERY then by all means, drop my happy ass off at the nearest corner n do your thing, it takes 20 seconds to explain the situation and let me out. But enough explaining myself, I'm going to leave this thread with this being said. Why don't you take some of your own advice, instead of telling me how to voice my opinion or saying its uneducated (even though I'm most likely more educated than you) you learn to keep your panties out of a bunch and carry on. Feel me buddy?

Hey, there is nothing wrong with living in mommy and daddy's house. In fact, I really don't understand why people think its cool or some how proves mental growth when someone doesn't live with mom and dad. Shit, I'm 26 and I'm proud to say I live with mom and dad. I'm a full time student working full time and being able to spend most of the money I make on tuition and other things instead of rent, well...I think that's the smarted thing I've done so far!

Though they'll never see this, thanks mom and dad!  :thumb:

I don't mean to change topics of the thread, but I've noticed of all my latino and asian friends, they lived the longest with their parents. I think it is more of a cultural thing there. White people are less family orientated, and once a kid hits 18, it's sink or swim time. I also think that is why you see a higher percentage of successful asian people. Kids aren't worried about making a living, but preparing for it (school, or saving up a fat savings account to actually buy their first house instead of having a lot of loans to live). It's crazy how different some cultures are.

Maybe that's why they don't care about ramming people on the road: they can pay the damages easily.

its funny you say that becuase that is exactly how things are here in korea.

if i offended you shamu i apologize, the problem i see is that majority of the people who badmouth cops (in my experience) are people who have done nothing to experience the outside of that house. i applaud your efforts to continue your education the best way you can. guys like him irritate me because they talk as if they know how everything works. when really they have no clue. then again i shouldnt have let him get to me in the 1st place.

Oh I'm not offended at all. Excat probably nailed it on the spot.

Though I recently moved back home with mom and dad, only rent and food is free. I'm still burdened with everyday expenses to be paid on my own, but I can't complain. Saving money on rent and food alone allows me to work less and focus more on school. The mere fact that I can focus on my long term goals is already invaluable. I couldn't ask for more.

I'm totally with you on kids who speak when they should really remain unspoken. I'm much older than my peers at the community college I attend. I hear nothing but kids talking about how they want to move out or claim to have to pay for everything on their own as if its bragging rights. Blows my mind. Not saying that there aren't those out there who have it rough and have to work for everything on their own..but more often than not, they're full of shit.

This Zap kid might have experienced some of the harshness the real world may bring, but I don't think he's developed the mature mentality it takes to face it quite yet. Instead of realizing where he went wrong, he continues to look for someone to point the finger to; like any adolescent would.

Maybe that's why they don't care about ramming people on the road: they can pay the damages easily.

Locked keys in car: Call a tow truck. Police aren't there to help you cus you're a moron
Giving a lift: It's a liability issue. If their cruiser is involved in an accident, they are liable for you.
Touching the centre line: You lean when you turn, yes? So your HEAD would be in the oncoming lane? It's the rider's responsibility to stay in their lane, just as it is for the oncoming car to stay in THEIR lane. IDK about you, but I've seen a LOT of fatal crashes because two vehicles "merely touched" the centre line. If they need to enforce, you know, the law, to keep people off the centre line, so be it.

If you get a ticket, you did something to deserve it. They don't just close their eyes and point at a random violation.

And believe me, they DO have something better to do than write your stupid ass a ticket. But it's their job. So look at it this way...next time you get a ticket, maybe you're stopping that officer from saving a life.

 :squid:

To protect and serve. Sounds like for most people, ain't a whole lot of either happening.

We may not agree with certain laws, but one thing is for sure, we all make a conscious decision to modify our bikes to match our personality; no matter legal or not.

By your mentality, you want cops to catch robbers...or criminals of that sort. What about driving home after a few drinks? I would categorize robbers and drunk drivers about the same..hate them equally.

For example: You mean to tell me that when you drive home after having a few drinks, you deserve to sneak by and get home safely? I mean, come on...you paid for your drinks. You even paid the taxes on the drinks too. You should have every right to drink and drive, right? Even though you put other people at risk of you crashing into them? ...I think you're grateful that you weren't caught. Which is the same concept as you making a decision to modify your bike. Hoping to never get caught with it. But when you do, don't bitch about it.

Drinking and driving and putting everyone at risk and making yourself an even worse driver than people already are, is completely different from putting an exhaust and fender eliminator on.
That's like saying if you wear a pink helmet that you deserve the same punishment as someone who starts shooting into the air in a restaurant (if you're a guy then the indignity should be enough punishment, reminds me of Richard Hammond in Vietnam...)

Chuck Norris exists, your argument is invalid!

You missed the point here. Whether modifying parts on your bike, or doing something that endangers others, you make a conscious decision to break the law. It doesn't mean I want to get caught, or any of you get caught for that matter. But the fact is, you make the decision to break the law, don't bitch about it when you get caught. You have no one else to blame except yourself.

Are some laws stupid? Sure there are plenty of laws that I think are stupid. I can understand why they're there though. When I break the law, I pay my fines. Simple as that. Sure it sucks to fork out the money but hey, I consciously made my decisions.

Here's some food for thought: This is a free country in the sense that if you're going to bitch and complain about how things are, you're more than welcome to a free STFU and GTFO of this country and find another place to live.
