so there was an error in the placement recordings... i was actually 14th in race 1 (not that it really makes much difference lol)
Way to go. I remember racing at Race City. Had to find some lines around the bumps especially that corner before the left hander that leads onto the front straight. I'm sure you'll find a good rythm around there. Probaly the longest front straight in Canada
the entire track is one big bump lol you thinking of the carousel? the hairpin at the north end ot the track? it's a wee bit bumpy through there, but not half as bad as corner 5 - the fastest corner on the track/one of the only right handers. you've gotta be right over the dirt to keep a semi-smooth line through there.
i actually went off the track in Saturday's practice. Right in the chute - the corner surrounded by concrete before the front straight. I narrowly missed the concrete walls, and went through a deep gavel pit and ended up on the drag strip. I managed to keep her up, but holy crap did i have to check my leathers for poop. My foot had slipped off my peg, and that was enough to send me off.
during the 2nd race, i clipped a corner coming out of the bus stop, and it straightened the bike out, and i was headed straight for another concrete wall. i actually had a moment of accepting death lol but, i said 'eff it, i can save it' and i dove my body down hard to the right to pull her back on line. I saved it, and went balls out into the next corner. I had a wee bit of catch up to do but thankfully I'm faster than a lot of the peeps in novice through the hairpin and it was easy enough to catch up.
such an amazing experience! i couldn't imagine not racing now. and I can't wait for round 2 in three weeks time. woot woot!
