first wheelie!!! scared the shit out of me!!

ive had my cbr600 for 3 days now and i was looking at power wheelie videos on youtube and checking out some forums on it to.  i did not plan on doing wheelies right now, i was going to wait until i got more comfortable on the bike. it seems that people have many different opinions on if the 2007 cbr600 can do power wheelies or not. You know who it is, when you are doing research you get many different opinions and after hours and hours of research you come to the conclusion that you have to figure it out on your own.  so that is what i did. i got it at the beginning of the power band in first gear and opened up the throttle. in the back of my mind i though that it would be alot harder so i was not really ready for what was about to happen. well of course the front came FLYING up about a foot or so in the air. i freaked out and closed the throttle and came crashing down! smashing my "man hood" into the gas tank! quit honestly im surprised that they are still intact! well i scared myself shitless and started cursing inside my helmet...

so yeah, apparently the 2007 cbr600rr can do power wheelies....

this bike is so amazing! the power in incredible!  ...makes me wonder what a 1000cc bike is like... so i have been taking it really easy since then. and i plan on getting more time on that bike before i try anything like that again.

and shame on my for "testing" out the power. be safe out there you guys.

well, it's good you learned the lesson 
i as well don't recomend you do stunting untill you get to know your bike on a more intimate level. you never know when things may go wrong, and then you'll need a lot more then just balls to get your arse out of there in one piece.

It is never a good idea to "test" out the power of these bikes unless you are at least on a race track.

You had to find out sooner or later, it would have been better later but oh well.

yup, the cbr is an amazing bike. this is one lesson that i probably will never forget.

Reveing the engine and popping the clutch is not a "power wheelie!!!" It's just popping a wheelie...a power wheelie is throttling it up from a roll which takes more finesse and effort on a 600cc bike...so maybe you should go back to plan A and wait till you get to know your bike better, because coming to your own conclusions about things related to sport biking can be fatal!

It's just popping a wheelie...a power wheelie is throttling it up from a roll which takes more finesse and effort on a 600cc bike...so maybe you should go back to plan A and wait till you get to know your bike better, because coming to your own conclusions about things related to sport biking can be fatal!

i know what a power wheelie is, and that is what i did.  no matter how "pro" you are with bike, you should always wait until you are really comfortable with a bike before trying anything, may it be going fast, or stunting.

Hey dont let these guys get you all bent out of shape. Before you know it there will be 5 more posts insulting your decisions as a beginner. I've been following advice from these guys on here since day 1. I've learned a ton of stuff from this site.
