So the bike fell over and landed on the key, which was in the ignition?

This is an easy Fix!!

All you have to do is pull the key out and use the spare. Don't have the spare? order one from honda with the number plate that came with your key.

Or maybe you can find the original owner of the bike and give it back to him, he should have the spare. Try giving the Vin number to the police and they can contact him for you.

OK... The basic description of how to remove it.
On the underside of the ignition Key / Steering lock assembly  There are two bolts - I believe they are a Trox head or a special Honda only head.  Remove these two bolts, unplug it and the entire assembly comes off - Might be two more bolts on the plastic cover too.  Take the Assembly to a locksmith and he should be able to remove the broken key and might even be able to make a new key for it to.

Do you know what size Trox head it is? I am trying to do it with a T30. The bolts are in there so tight I am worried I will strip it if I am using the wrong size/tool.
Like you said could it be a Honda Only Head? If so any idea where I can get a hold of one? Is it a dealer only type of thing?

I bought this salvaged title bike at auction and did not realize it did not have a key. I am trying to get a key to see if the bike will start. Not to mention I will have to add fuel to it at some point.  ::)

ok...here..follow the big black wire from the key assembly to the ecu.. there is a 3 prong..maybe 4 prong connector kinda mid fairing on right side. pull apart.. stick resistor in ecu side and hit ignition button
this is my signature.....there are many like it....but this one is mine.....

No Idea...  don't own my 05 anymore.
Yes,  They are a PIA to get out as I belive they are in there with perment loctite... most likely you'd round off the Torx bit before stripping the head of the screw.
But if you just want to cycle the ignition, unplug it and wire a swtich in place.

That would help getting the bike started but, I still will not have access to the gas tank.

It doesn't seem like removing the 7 bolts and pulling it up is all you have to do in order to remove the gas cap or am I missing something?

Do you know how I can take off the locking gas cap? Like I said, it seems that there is more to it than removing the 7 bolts and pull it up.

All of this is because I don't have the keys to this bike.

If by chance you need a key for your ignition as well, you can take the ignition out (which is also a pain). There are numbers stamped on the side of the ignition switch case which will provide your dealer with a key code to cut a new one
graffiti is offline      < took this off another site... they also suggest going in under the fuel pump and pushing back the locking mech. from the underside. seems like a pain in the ass.... the bolts on top will release the cap but... it being in the closed position the lock tabs are pushed under the lip of the tank.. so kind of a fail safe i guess... they said they screwdrivered the key hole open... it works obviously gas lock is ruined but you can pick up a twist off pretty freakin cheap.

I am having a real hard time getting the Ignition Cylinder/Barrel off. The two screws are so freaking tight! When I look at it, it seems that a T30 will work. I get it in place but it is so tight I am concerned I will strip the thing. Am I using the right tool or do I need a special lock key sort of like the ones on a car's wheels?

I might just have to pay my locol dealership $150 to have them do it. That would be last resort as I really want to do it all myself.

I just read that this is a track bike. Break into the gas cap and get a screw on, and then bypass the key. At least doing that you will know if it even runs or not. Go cheap before you dump money into it.
