IMHO There is only one bass player.... Les

He is very unique, but by far not the best...his style is one of the sloppiest, yet one of the most technical at the same time and the thing we have in common (other than playing the fretless bass) is he is self taught...it's a curse and a blessing!

Curse and a blessing - No shit.

Les is not the best by all means as fret said, but he's in a whole class of his own simply because theres not many people that can play how he does and make it so appealing to the ear, imho.

I do agree technically, he's definitely not the best.  Sloppy probably the best way to describe it.  But it's just simply amazing to me what he can do with a bass...

It's kind of like comparing Dimebag with Marty F.  Worlds different, but I can simply sit and listen in awe to both  :drool:

Speaking of Les...are you familiar with his work in a band named Sausage or the wacky shit he did with the guitarist Buckethead? Some of his finest work was outside of Primus...
