majin I would highly recommend you do it. Since I started this thread I have put about 800 miles on my friends 1000. I love it! The main thing I would emphasize is that you really take it easy on the throttle till you get used to the power. Also - do not do the 'flapper mod'. It really makes the throttle response jumpy in weird spots.
I emphasize, ride that sucker with your balls between your right hand and the throttle!!!
As for the integrated turn signals, I would'nt put flushmounts on the front as you CAN NOT see the blinker unless you are beside the bike. The integrated brake/turn signals is fine.
I HIGHLY recommend the micron slip on for this bike. I can send you a sound clip of the one I have if your curious. It is awesome!
Cherry as in mint or as in cherry red. And if cherry red, wine cherry, wild cherry, black cherry, or mint cherry? Actually do you have some mint tires in minty green, or mint & chip?  ;D

1000rr is a great bike. BUT
you check what your insurance would jump to?
thats what kept me on this 600.... its just as fun (kinda more fun b/c you can rev the piss out of it more often)
wheelies happen all the time on the thousy though.... wish i could keep all my bikes all the time. selling 'em sux
you can trust me. I don't even have a mustache.

thanks maskale. That just gives me much pleasure.
Thats true Black, that sucker does wheelie all the time. Thats why i emphasized feathering that throttle. If not it will jump up and kick you in the 'goolies'.

UPDATE:
I like about the 1000RR ->> POWER, POWER, POWER..
The front end is wider than the 600 and the mirrors WAYYY more useful.
The riding style is more fitting for longer rides.
The way that Micron slip on sounds when I blip the throttle!!!
I don't like about the 1000-> There is no fuel gauge, Theres a 'darn near empty' light, but no bars.
The front is so big that it never disappears. My 600, i can lean forward a little and
everything except the top of the mirrors disapears. I can close my eyes and pretend
                                              Im condorman!

One mo thing I like about the 1000 over the 600, hydraulic clutch!
Much smoother and more predictable than the wire guided manual clutch on the 600.
Is there a conversion for the 6 for a hydraulic clutch and is it worth even fooling with?

Noooooooooooooo, leave that shit well alone. I`ve never used a hydro clutch, but with the self adjusting-ness of it I`d hate for the clutch to start slipping under accelleration before I got any warning my clutch was dead!  ???
You could end up(if you went through with it) with a clutch so heavy it would take a week at the gym to use it-or it could be so light that you wouldn`t know if the thing was engaged or not!!!
Cable works fine for now(and one less thing to bleed is welcomed...). 8)
