Nice congrad.. Have fun with it while you still can, before he takes it back, and write a review if you can.. 

How much did he pay for it?  if you dont mind me asking... but I would have gotten a S2R just like what DoingOk got for his gf..

What an awesome bike...  The 919 or the yamaha FZ-1 would be a fantastic choice..

I put about 10 miles on it yesterday.
Breaking it in the hard way.
It's really easy to ride, handles well.
I'll try to ride it over the weekend if weather permits.
(sucky chicago weather)

$8400 out the door from schaumburg honda. (same place where I got my 600rr)

We talked to chicago cycle about the bike, but that place is pretty wack.
Their salespeople would rather talk to someone on the phone instead of helping a live body in the showroom.
And half of them didn't even know what a 919 was and then they were pretty much like, yeah the 919 is a really hot bike, we can't keep any of them in stock... what a load of crap. 
just really turned me off to them.

funny thing is, i ordered a puig screen for the 600rr from them last week, and when i asked their parts department if it came in yet, they acted like they never even heard of the brand before.

oh well.. sorry for the ranting.  lol

they actually had an 02 duc s2 or an s4(5k miles) for 4grand and change.
looked really sharp, i was so tempted to buy it.

It was 2004 maybe that came in green, it'd be easy enough to get ti painted any color you want!

Is he going to swap out the forks?  The one thing I didn't like about the 919 or the 599 for that matter, was the lack of adjustability on the suspension.

I don't think he really cares about the color...
Just needs something to ride that won't hurt his bum knee too much.

Don't know.
I've never taken a ride on the nighthawk.
The headlights look the same though...   

The 919 is really torquey though.
I can pop a wheelie without even trying.
