and I am very pleased with the results.. looks quite luminous on this pic because of the camera flash, but it matches the red on the rest of the bike perfectly

cheers, yeah the brochure for the UK black made the silver look totally white... looks better in the flesh

I saw a blade with some red decals on its wheels and so I looked into it.. got them off a guy on ebay in the end.. easy to fit but need a bit of patience... plus a complete ballache without a paddock stand

I guess rim stripes'll hafta hold me over 'till I just get new wheels. The shipping company made the nice shiny black wheels on mine fubar after they were done screwing up stuff..then their insurance tried to claim since the bike was wrecked they didn't have to pay..still fighting with that..a rim stripe'd cover the missing pcoat.

Looks great   Did you have to take the wheels off to put on the decals?  How long did it take you?  What kiind of decals are they?  Kinda reminds me of what Yamaha is doing now with their 05 bikes.

I don't think they'd work as well on those solid aluminum rims, but thanks for the suggestion

Ok, where can I get some red ones, preferably NOT reflective.  I really like the rims on the 05 Yamahas.  I've checked around on the internet but I really haven't found what I'm looking for

Hi guys...
yeah they were simple enough to fit, they come in four parts for each wheel, so you get 16 parts for the entire bike, this way you don't need to take the wheel off, just turn the wheel so that you can access enough to fit a decal on one quarter of the entire rim at a time..
The reason I got them in the first place was because I love the red rims on the 05 R6, think it adds quite a bit of character to the bike..
Yeah that paint scheme is the best out of the three IMHO, there is a red, blue and silver which I think looks like a tracksuit from the early '90's and there is a blue one which isn't too bad.
I got those decals off a guy on ebay, he may ship to the US too..
They are quite a stretchy plastic, so can be guided around the rim with ease, its just a case of beiing neat I guess, then when you have put on one quarter, you just over lap it by a couple of mm and do the next quarter, its hard to spot the join if you do it neatly.

Plane bikes are so boring though...unless they're a race bike (cuz you're just gunna wreck eventually and fuck up all your hard work)  But I love to see good vinyl work done on street bikes.
